Area 52 and BattleAxe posters – hobby game shop marketing

I used to run hobby game shop with my husband, and I could often put my artistic skills to good use there! It was mostly in graphic design, making posters and flyers to advertise all our card and board game tournaments. Over the course of a few years, I produced literally hundreds of these from dozens of templates, changing up the feature art, colours, fonts, and graphic assets to make each one unique. Here are is a selection of some of my favourites:

Sometimes it was a tedious chore, especially when I had to do several in a week, but all in all I enjoyed the opportunity to be creative and make colourful posters to decorate the store with, and flyers to give out to excited kids and their parents. When our time with BattleAxe came to an end, I didn’t think I’d ever be making any more.

But it turns out Area 52, another local game shop, wanted some templates to advertise their own events. They got in contact with me through Ash, who now occasionally works there, and commissioned me to make some. Here are the results!
